Knitting a pair of socks for a one-legged person...

100_1381 I love a challenge when it comes to knitting.  I'm tired of doing scarves and wanted to try socks.  I wanted to make a pair of mittens for a Christmas gift, but only got as far as knitting one!  There were numerous mistakes and I got discouraged and didn't make the other mitten.  I thought I might do the same thing with the socks, so I determined that I would, well you know, as the title says!  Well I am so proud of myself.  There are not too many mistakes and I'm anxious to finish the other one, now!!  They are made of 100% wool  (I started a purse and felted it out of the same yarn.  when I finish it, I'll post a pic.) and since I'm allergic to wool, I planned to give these away.  But they feel so good on my feet, that I think I should figure out how to un-allergize myself.  (Word invention alert!!)

Kodi LOVES to play with my yarn! By the way, Kodi LOVES to play in my yarn stash!!

It's a perfect day for sitting by the wood stove and knitting.  It's 45 degrees below 0!!!  Our church was supposed to have our annual New Year's Eve Fireworks celebration, but it was canceled because of the cold.  So I might venture out to the video store, check out some movies and knit that other sock tonight!

That sock looks great! Be careful, though. Sock knitting can be addictive! Ask me how I know. ;)
